Editorial policy

Everything on this site is written in house. There is no syndicated content, no spun product copy and no articles bought by the word.

Sourcing

Where a guide makes a factual claim about sleep, allergens, certification or a child’s safety, it cites a national agency or the body that runs the certification, and the source is opened and read before the sentence citing it is written rather than found afterwards to prop up a sentence we had already decided on. Each trust block lists its sources with the date they were read.

Health claims

We report what the agencies say and we point at the page. We do not turn a piece of general guidance into a promise about your neck, your sleep or your allergies, and we say so on every block that touches health. A pillow is bedding, not a treatment.

Specifications

Every figure in a specification table comes from the documentation for that model. Where a figure is not published, the row is absent rather than estimated. Where two of our own sources give different figures for the same pillow, we print neither and say why on the sizes page.

Customer reviews

Reviews quoted on this site are reproduced as written, including spelling, and are chosen to represent the range of experience rather than the best of it. Three and four star reviews appear alongside five star ones. We do not write reviews, solicit them, or edit a quote in a way that changes what the reviewer meant. Ratings are pooled across a whole line rather than kept per colour, and we say that on every page where the number appears.

Photographs

Product photography is our own, and every frame is looked at by a person before it is published. A frame that belongs to a different colourway does not go on a page, and promotional graphics with text drawn over the photograph stay in our advertising rather than on this site: a product page shows the pillow, not a slogan.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us at hello@viewstar.net. We correct the page and, where the error changed the meaning of a recommendation, we say what changed rather than editing quietly.
